Dozens of representatives from overseas travel agencies will be attending this year, for the first time since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Camping tourism in Hengqin, and tourism opportunities in countries that have signed up to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, will be among the highlight offerings, according to a welcome message from Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, head of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), which has organised the conference.
MITE occupies a bigger floor space this year and hopes to attract as many as 40,000 attendees, or roughly 10,000 more than last year.
