Macao has been named the best city in China for leisure travel at the TTG China Travel Awards for the fifth year in a row. TTG China is a Chinese-language travel industry publication and part of the TTG Asia stable of regional titles.

Six hotels in the SAR were also recognised at the annual awards show. Sands Resorts Macao won the best resort in China award for the seventh time, while newcomer Andaz Macau was voted the best new city hotel. Other Macao-based recipients included the Holiday Inn Macau, MGM Cotai, Grand Hyatt Macau and the St. Regis Macao.

Speaking to local media, the senior vice president of resort operations at Sands China, Kris Kaminsky, said that the award was a testament to the dedication and professionalism of his team and that it inspired the integrated resort to continue maintaining its high standards.

Voting for the awards are normally conducted annually between May and August, with the type of voters varying depending on the award, although they include TTG publication readers and industry professionals such as tour operators, hoteliers and airline staff.

Established in 2008, the TTG China Travel Awards recognise the best of the best in Greater China’s travel and tourism industry.
