<Macau, China, 12 Aug – Shun Tak-China Travel Shipping Investments said in a statement Thursday that it has entered into a sales and purchase agreement with New World First Holdings, to acquire all shareholdings in New World First Ferry Services ( Macau ), The Macau Post Daily reports today.
The transaction includes acquisition of vessels and operation concessions granted by the Macau government, the statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange said.
“Consideration of the transaction amounts to HK$350 million,” the statement said, adding that the company “will maintain the current service, sailing and staff.”
The statement pledged that “ticket fares will also remain unchanged.”
Shun Tak-China Travel Shipping Investments operates under the brand TurboJet. Its flagship route runs between Hong Kong Maritime Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan and Macau .
First Ferry (Macau) mainly runs a ferry link between China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui and Macau .
“Through this acquisition, we hope to support Macau ’s internationalisation as its transforms [itself] into a truly global destination,” the statement quoted Shun Tak-China Travel Shipping Investments Director and CEO Pansy Ho Chiu King as saying.(MacauNews/Tourism)
