Macau’s 66 hotels and 33 guesthouses welcomed a record 875,640 guests in July, up 10 percent year-on-year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced.
The previous record stood at 820,163 in December last year.
Guests’ average length of stay dropped 0.18 of a night to 1.2 nights in July, when the occupancy rate of hotels and guesthouses stood at 85 percent, down by 3.2 percentage points. Four-star hotels had the highest average occupancy rate, at 90.1 percent.
In the first seven months, the number of guests rose 11.8 percent year-on-year to 5.35 million.
Guests in hotels and guesthouses accounted for 33.4 percent of all visitor arrivals between January and July.(macaunews)
