Australian pro golfer Min Woo Lee secured a record-breaking wire-to-wire win over Thailand’s Poom Saksansin at the SJM Macao Open on Sunday, the Macau Post Daily reports.
The 25-year-old finished with a four-round total of 30-under par, smashing the previous 20-under record for the Macau Open set back in 2015. He was two shots shy of the Asian Tour record, held by Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat since 2009.
“I love it,” Lee said after his winning game. “I played wonderful, really flawless golf for a lot of the holes.”

Min Woo Lee, who is ranked no. 46 in the world, pocketed US$180,000 for his efforts. It was his first win since the 2021 Scottish Open. He also paid tribute to his opponent, who finished just two shots behind.
“Poom played unbelievable today,” Lee told media. “He never left, he just stayed around. I tried my best and ended up on top, but he was giving it to me for the whole time.”
The 2023 SJM Macao Open took place at the Macau Golf and Country Club from 12 to 15 October.
