The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of yet more items at the 32nd Macao Arts Festival as the performers are unable to travel to Macao from mainland China.

New Dragon Inn was to have taken place on 28 and 29 May. The Cultural Affairs Bureau announced that Meet-the-Artist: Shi Yihong Heritage and Innovation of Peking Opera, which was to have taken place on 26 May, has also been cancelled for the same reason.

Three other programme items, Xiao Ke, Electra and I Am a Moon, were axed earlier this month for similar pandemic-related reasons.

Refunds will be available via the Macau Ticketing Network up until June 30.

Tickets are still available for such festival programmes as the dance theatre Vaster Far than the Ocean, which was created by dancers and choreographers from Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao which will take place this coming  Friday and Saturday, and the children’s musical The Story of Kong Yiji which will be performed on Saturday and Sunday, The Macau Post Daily reported.
