Andaz Macau marked its opening on Friday at Galaxy Macau. The hotel is the eighth property at the Cotai resort and follows the recently opened Raffles hotel.
Hyatt’s Andaz brand has 28 properties spread across the world, from New York to Dubai and Tokyo. With more than 700 rooms and suites, the Macao property is the largest to carry the Andaz name.
Guests toasted the opening in a ceremony held at the Andaz Studio, the hotel’s multifunctional event space, where Executive Chef André Lai presented an array of locally inspired culinary creations.
Kevin Kelley, the chief operating officer of Galaxy Macau, noted that “Andaz Macau reaffirms our unwavering commitment to enhancing leisure attractions for both locals and tourists alike, in support of Macao SAR government’s initiatives to develop Macao as a world centre of tourism and leisure.”
The hotel is inspired by local art and culture – a feature of all Andaz properties. According to a statement, it promises to immerse guests in the “real Macao” through contemporary visual takes on the city’s multicultural heritage and aesthetics. Fittings, colour palettes and carefully curated artwork – including a striking video installation known as Macau Steps – are all intended as a homage to its location.

Featuring two towers, a 19-metre indoor pool and a 24-hour fitness centre, the property is aimed at both business and leisure travellers, who will benefit from Galaxy Macau’s 1.1 million square metres of entertainment, shopping, dining and leisure attractions.
The new hotel is directly connected to the Galaxy International Convention Center and the 16-000 seat Galaxy Arena, and has a dedicated check-in lounge for large MICE groups.
Accommodation starts at 35-square-metre standard rooms and peaks with the 68-square-metre Andaz Suite. Views overlook Hengqin Island, Taipa or the Caesars golf course, with all guests entitled to use Galaxy Macau’s sprawling Grand Resort Deck.
Food and beverage offerings at Andaz Macau comprise the all-day dining venue Andaz Kitchen, where guests can savour Portuguese, Macanese and other cuisines; the Andaz Bar which features a craft cocktail menu; and the club-like Andaz Lounge. The multifunctional Andaz Studio is available for business gatherings and private parties.
To mark its opening, the hotel has launched an opening package that starts at 1,698 patacas and features a night’s accommodation, buffet breakfast for two and a selection of local experiences and extras.
