Macau’s population stood at 652,500 people at the end of the first half-year, up 0.5 percent or 3,400 people over the end-first-quarter figure, the Statistics and Census Service announced.
The figures indicate that the female population of 332,600 accounted for 51 percent of the total.
In year-on-year terms, the population counted 9,600 more people than at the end of the first half of 2015, up 1.49 percent.
At the end of the second quarter of this year there were 182,400 non-resident workers, 1,023 more than in the previous quarter. During the second quarter 339 people were granted right of abode in Macau. (Macau News / Macauhub)
