Macau, CHina, 28 Nov – Among the respondents who choose to use Macau ’s public health services for medical treatment, only 6.34 percent thought that local public health facilities are able to “provide a professional medical service”, according to the findings of a survey cited by The Macau Post Daily today.
The survey, aimed at understanding local residents’ use of public and private health services, was conducted by the Collective Wisdom Policy Centre, the think tank of the Macau General Neighbourhood Unions Association, commonly known as “Kai Fong”.
According to the survey, 1,125 respondents were interviewed in the street last month.
According to the findings, over half of the respondents chose the city’s private health facilities for treatment, while about 42 percent go to public health facilities. The remainder said they “never use either”.
The main reasons for the residents who chose to use the public health services are “free of charge” and “low cost”, while only about 7.6 percent thought that “they were quick and convenient” – and just 6.34 percent thought that the public health facilities were “able to “provide professional medical treatment”, according to the survey.(MacauNews/Politics)
