Macau’s residential property price rose 17.7 per cent year-on-year to 116,856 patacas per square metre last month, the highest price this year, the Finance Services Bureau (DSF) announced on Tuesday.
In August last year, the price stood at 99,254 patacas.
The average residential property price in Taipa reached 138,110 patacas per square metre, the highest in the whole city. In Coloane, the average price stood at 121,283 patacas. The price on the peninsula fell to 107,810 patacas.
According to the Macau Post Daily, a total of 770 homes were sold last month, 11 more than in August last year. A total of 518 residential units were sold on the peninsula. Residents bought 750 of the homes, or 97.5 per cent of the total. Some 82.5 per cent of the units were bought by first-time home buyers.
