Nepal’s human trafficking watchdog says young girls are being trafficked to Macau. According to local broadcaster TDM, the latest report of the watchdog also reveals there have been complaints over scams related to jobs here in the special administrative region.
According to the Trafficking in Persons National Report, the Office of the Special Rapporteur on Trafficking on Persons has handled three complaints linked to Macau.
In one case, 34 people who had been promised jobs in South Africa, Macau and Iraq were abandoned in Bangkok.
The report for 2015/2016 also mentions evidences of human smuggling and trafficking, namely of young Nepali girls.
The document mentions one alleged case of sexual exploitation of a domestic helper, which TDM News reported last year.
