Addressing Tuesday’s evening’s daily press conference about Macau’s novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, SSM Control of Communicable Diseases and Surveillance of Diseases Department Coordinator Leong Iek Hou revealed on Tuesday that the 40-year-old Filipina – a Hong Kong resident – who was confirmed by the Hong Kong authorities earlier this week to have been infected with the novel coronavirus disease following her six-day visit to Macau last week also visited Hác Sá Beach in Coloane on March 24 with a Hong Kong colleague. They took the public bus 26A twice from Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro at around 12:20 a.m. and returned at 4 p.m.
The woman came to Macau last Sunday and returned to Hong Kong on Friday.
According to the local government’s announcements earlier this week, the woman visited a string of locations during her six-day visit to Macau, such as having lunch several times at the Jollibee fast-food eatery at Circle Square in Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, buying fresh food at the São Domingos Municipal Market, buying ice cream at the Häagen-Dazs outlet near the city’s main square Largo do Senado, buying a cable from the Fortress shop at the square, and visiting The Roadhouse Macau bar at Galaxy Entertainment Group’s Broadway Food Street in Cotai.
Leong said on Tuesday that the Filipina also used the toilet in a seafood restaurant near the Ponte 16 casino-hotel in the Inner Harbour.
