A Filipino passenger died aboard a special charter flight arranged by the Philippine Consulate General from Macao to Manila on Friday.
The consulate announced that the passenger, whose age and gender was not revealed, was accompanied by their spouse on Philippine Airlines flight PR8353.
The passenger, who had a prior medical condition but had been declared medically fit to travel, sought assistance around 30 minutes after the flight took off, which some of the flight crew and two passengers provided.
Emergency health services were also deployed when the plane landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), The Macau Post Daily reported.
“The Philippine Consulate General in Macao SAR offers its condolences to the family and friends” of the passenger, the consulate said, pledging to “continue coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs and other concerned authorities in extending assistance to the family of our late compatriot”.
