Macao government suspended today classes at secondary schools due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Pre-school, primary and special education classes are also suspended throughout the day.
Due to the floods, the access road to Zhuhai at the border of Portas do Cerco was temporarily closed.
The Public Security Police (PSP) Traffic Department said the road was closed at the request of Zhuhai’s side.
Due to the heavy rain, there are also floods in the lower areas of the city and in the Inner Harbour, with many public roads flooded.
According to the Public Security Police, the reservoir tunnel and the tunnel on Avenida Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues have been closed to traffic.
Thunderstorm warning signals and yellow rainstorm will be in place until 14:30 today.
The Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has asked the public to avoid outdoor activities and pay attention when driving.
Due to heavy rain, many car parks are inundated with water covering vehicles.
