After more than one year suspension from her duties in the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Glória Batalha Ung returned to the institution to work in the Department of Economic and Commercial Promotion with Lusophone markets.
According to Radio Macau today, Glória Ung, who was suspended due to a criminal investigation announced by the Macau Commission Against Corruption( CCAC), returned to IPIM on the 1st of November, after the measures applied for her suspension during the investigation were lifted.
When suspended in October 2018 Glória Ung was an executive member at IPIM and also deputy secretary-general of the Forum Macau.
Her position in Forum Macau has been occupied by Casimiro Pinto since the suspension.
The suspension of public duties was due to “alleged irregularities in the assessment of applications for residence for investment purpose” that where not proved.
Glória Ung was investigated, along with the former president of IPIM, Jackson Cheong, who is suspected of crimes of passive corruption, document forgery and breach of secrecy.
The former IPIM president is in custody since July.
