Macao drivers Charles Leong and André Couto are doing the SAR proud in this year’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia (LSTA), round three of which took place at South Korea’s Inje Speedium over the weekend.
The 22-year-old Leong and his Japanese co-driver Miki Koyama now lead the pro category, having secured second and third positions in the round’s two races, the Macau Daily Times reported. The pair were driving a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 for the SJM Iron Lynx Theodore Racing team.
In the pro-am category, meanwhile, 47-year-old Couto achieved two wins with his Chinese co-driver Jason Chen. Representing Madness Racing Team and also driving a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 (the LSTA is a one-make competition), Couto and Chen’s performance lets them retain a comfortable lead in their class of the championship.

The LSTA features six rounds in total and next moves to Japan’s Fuji International Speedway. Round five takes place in Shanghai, China, before mid-November’s grand finale at the Spanish circuit of Jerez De La Frontera.
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo world final, bringing together winners of the Asia, Europe and North America series, takes place immediately afterwards – also in Spain.
This year’s world finals clash with the 2024 Macau Grand Prix, scheduled between 14-17 November. After the LSTA’s first round in May, Leong said that the conflict meant he was taking a “wait and see” approach to where he’d be racing later in the year.
