U Choi Hung picks up Macao’s first honour at the Games, which are being held in Hangzhou until 28 October.

Local athlete U Choi Hung has won a bronze medal in table tennis at the 4th Asian Para Games. 

She picked up the medal – Macao’s first in the competition – in the women’s singles class 7 event and tied for third place with South Korea’s Kim Seong-ok.

The Asian Para Games are being held in Hangzhou until Saturday, and feature some 3,100 paralympians from more than 40 countries and regions, competing in hundreds of events.

China leads the medal tally so far with 67 gold, 53 silver, and 45 bronze medals, followed by Iran with 16 golds.

The Asian Para Games come in the wake of the Asian Games, which concluded on 8 October.

The SAR won one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals at the Asian Games – all in martial arts events.
