The Cultural Affairs Bureau (known by its Portuguese initials IC) has announced that tickets are now available for all performances in Macao Chinese Orchestra’s 2025-26 concert season, which kicked off on 30 August under the theme of “Culture City of East Asia.”
The season opened with Eastern Radiance, a new symphonic suite co-composed by musicians from China, Japan and South Korea, performed with traditional instrumentalists from all three countries. The closing concert, Millennium Echo, will feature the ancient Chinese percussion instrument bianzhong, performed with the Bianzhong National Orchestra of Hubei Provincial Opera and Dance Drama Theatre.
Other highlights include concerts commemorating two major Chinese composers: Harmonious Cantonese marking the 115th anniversary of Liu Tianyi’s birth, and The Titan celebrating the 95th anniversary of Peng Xiuwen.
