Macau, China, 21 Feb – Macau’s record 28 million visitors spent a record 45.3 billion patacas – not including their gambling losses – last year, a year-on-year growth of 20 percent, The Macau Post Daily reports today, citing official data.
Visitors’ non-gambling expenditure accounted for some 16.8 percent of what they spent on gambling last year.
The local gaming industry’s gross gaming receipts reached a record 269 billion patacas last year, up 41.8 percent year-on-year.
Visitors’ average length of stay remained unchanged at around 21 and a half hours last year.
The average length of stay of overnight visitors rose by about two and a half hours to one day and slightly over 19 hours. Same-day visitors’ average length of stay remained unchanged at slightly less than five hours. (Macaunews/Tourism)
