Macau’s visitor arrivals fell by 3 per cent year-on-year to 2.47 million last month, announced the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC).
The bureau pointed out that the Easter holiday last year fell in April while this year it took place in March.
Month-to-month, the number of visitor arrivals rose by 4.4 per cent.
Same-day visitors dropped by 10.1 per cent to 1.24 million, while overnight visitors rose by 5.6 per cent to 1.22 million.
Visitors’ average length of stay increased by 0.2 day year-on-year to 1.1 days.
Overnight visitors’ average stay rose by 0.3 day to 2.1 days.
Visitors from the mainland increased by 1.2 per cent year-on-year to 1.65 million. The number of Hong Kong visitors fell by 19.4 per cent year-on-year to 485,970.
Last month recorded 16,849 visitors from the US, 5,672 from the UK, 8,796 from Australia, and 6,530 from Canada.
In the first four months, visitor arrivals totalled 9.93 million, down 0.3 per cent year-on-year.
