Macau’s airport logged a record 5.48 million passengers last year, an increase of nine percent from 2013, owner-cum-operator CAM has announced.
The single-runway airport handled a daily average of about 15,000 passengers last year.
August saw the highest monthly number of passengers last year, at 528,919.
August also produced the highest monthly passenger figure since the airport’s opening in November 1995. February recorded last year’s lowest monthly passenger number, at 420,229.
The number of touchdowns and take-offs rose seven percent year-on-year to 52,559 last year, an average of 144 aircraft movements a day.
