Macao’s firefighters came away triumphant from the 2021 Macao International Dragon Boat Races, having won both the  200-metre small dragon boat race for public entities and the 500-metre standard dragon boat race.

SJM Gold Jubilee and Wynn took second place in the 500-metre race while Wynn came in third.

The female category of the same race was won by the Association of Macau Youth Development, while MGM Macau and Wynn won second and third place respectively.

The University of Macau won the 200-metre small dragon boat race in the university student category, while the public 200-metre small dragon boat race was won by the Association of Macau Youth Development.

The races were held over two days at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre, and in line with the Health Bureau’s Covid-19 prevention guidelines, were not open to spectators.

Participants and event coordinators had to show a valid Nucleic Acid Test taken within 14 days prior to entering the venue for the competition, The Macau Post Daily reported.

People present at the venue had to show a green Macau Health Code, have their temperature checked and wear facemasks. Racers also had to wear their facemasks at all times and could only take them off during their warm-ups and actual races.
