The CEO of Macau Legend Development says the newly announced immigration checkpoint at the Fisherman’s Wharf will be a good platform to further promote the city’s individual travel scheme for yachts.

David Chao also thinks this checkpoint can also help fight against illegal entrants and tax evasion.

Chief Executive Chui Sai On has issued an executive order on Tuesday, allowing a new immigration checkpoint to be set up on the docks of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.

The checkpoint is set to only serve people embarking for leisure craft that enter or exit the SAR and is mandated to operate when necessary.

The Chief Executive’s executive order will come into effect as of April 1st.

And that’s good news to David Chow, who heads the Fisherman’s Wharf under his corporation – Macau Legend Development.

David Chow says this new checkpoint can serve as a platform to further promote the city’s individual travel scheme for yachts.

Mr. Chow said: “Now that we have a new place designated for management, I believe it’d be easier to regulate the city’s logistic, transportation industries as well as to better fight against illegal entrants and tax evasion. This new platform can also help develop the city’s individual visit scheme for yachts”

David Chow also says about 30 yachts can fit into the docks of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf for now and says the checkpoint will be a cornerstone for developing Macau’s newly-granted jurisdiction of 85 kilometers of sea area.
