Macau, China, 12 Jan – Housing Bureau (IH) Director Tam Kuong Man said Wednesday that the government would try its best to ensure that people could take up residence in its home-ownership scheme (HOS) Lakeside Building in Taipa in the last quarter of this year.
Lakeside Building, comprises five 48-storey blocks and one 46-storey block, with a total of 2,703 flats, most of which are two-bedroomed, while the number of three-bedroom flats stands at 524.
The government announced previously that it has set the price of the Lakeside Building at an average of 1,184 patacas per square foot (around 0.09 square metre), based on a government subsidy of over 50 percent.
According to The Macau Post Daily today,Tam made the pledge after a visit organised by the bureau for members of the Public Housing Affairs Council to the show flats at the construction site of the HOS development
Tam also said the HOS applicants today could visit the show flats as well and then go to the bureau to purchase the flat they have chosen.
“The Lakeside Building project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year so that the future owners could take up residence in the last quarter of this year,” Tam said.
The estate was fully financed and planned by the government, including a range of facilities such as a health centre, a crèche and a bus stop for the residents living there.(MacauNews/Politics)
