CTM recorded a net profit of HK$531.6 million in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percent, CITIC Telecom International Holdings said in a statement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange .
According to the statement, CTM’s turnover rose 7.8 percent in the first six months. “Such increase in turnover was mainly driven by the growth in the mobile services, Internet services and enterprise solutions services,” the statement said.
The statement also said that “CTM has focused on enhancing overall network stability, as it adopted plans and measures to secure safe operation and sought ongoing technical improvements to avoid breakdowns.”
CTM’s turnover for handset sales rose 4.2 percent, “following extensive marketing efforts,” the statement said.
According to the statement, CTM has about 766,000 mobile users, representing a market share of 45 percent.
CTM reported a net growth of more than 4,000 Internet users during the first half of the year to take the total number of users to 156,000, including around 22,000 users of fibre-optic broadband services, representing a 100 percent market share.(macaunews/macaupost)
