The Transport Bureau (DSAT) will hold a public session on June 23 to announce the successful bidders for 200 new taxi licences, according a statement from the bureau on Wednesday.
The bureau also said in the statement that 230 taxi licences will expire later this year or next year. The 200 new taxi licences will be valid for eight years.

According to the statement, starting from Wednesday any Macau ID card holder who is interested in the public tender can submit his or her bid until 6 p.m. on June 18. The basic price of each licence is 200,000 patacas, not including stamp duty amounting to 10 percent of the basic price.
The bureau also said all bidders will have to pay a down-payment of 50,000 patacas. The session will be held at the Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM) Pavilion in Zape.

Currently, 1,080 taxis are operating.  (macaunews/macaupost)
