The Chief Executive approved on Tuesday the extension to June 26 of the deadline for social housing application, according to a statement by the Government Information Bureau (GCS). For document re-submission, the deadline has also been postponed to July 24.
This is in response to the current development of the pandemic and the continuous increase of social housing applicants. In order of reducing the risk of crowd gathering and disease transmission, the Housing Bureau has adopted a series of anti-epidemic and protective measures since March 2.
To speed up the processing of applicants and ease the flow of people, the bureau also urges applicants to read instructions thoroughly and to prepare documents accordingly. They also urge the applicants to refer to the sample application forms to avoid having to submit additional documents.
Starting from April 20, the bureau will only accept application forms submitted through the Housing Bureau. To increase the maximum number of appointments per day to 1,000, applicants are urged to submit their forms according to the appointed date and time to reduce the period of waiting.
The 2013 social housing application round attracted more than 40,000 applications to compete for just over 1,000 residential units.
Those interested in applying can choose to make an appointment online (https://booking.ihm.gov.mo) or go to the Housing Bureau office to make an appointment: Rua Sul do Canal dos Patos, Edifício do Bairro da Ilha Verde, r/c K, Macau
