Renowned yoga master Michel Besnard and yoga teacher Roslyn Ying will lead an Ashtanga yoga weekend workshop at Mandarin Oriental, Macau as part of a wellness event dubbed “Awaken & Align”. Set to take place on 13 and 14 April, the workshop’s programme features ashtanga classes with a focus on breath control (pranayama), as well as sessions on form and alignment, which will cover standing poses and backbends.

Besnard, who is known among yogis as “the teacher of teachers,” was a student of the late BKS Iyengar and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, two highly respected Indian yoga gurus. From his base in Chiang Mai, Besnard travels the world teaching and practising Ashtanga alongside his partner and personal assistant Ying, who has been teaching yoga for nearly two decades.

The French yoga master also holds an Advanced Postural Integrator certification by the Psycho-Physical institute of San Francisco.

“Awaken & Align” is organised by lifestyle media brand The Bay, launched by Ruca Ltd., the owner of Macao News. The Mandarin Oriental, Macau is the venue sponsor and Macao News is the official media partner.
