Foreign nationals without a Macao ID card will now be allowed back into the city following the relaxation of a ban that has been in place for a year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Foreigners planning to come back to Macao must follow two strict guidelines.

Firstly, they may only return if they travelled to the mainland from Macao with a mainland visa issued by the Office of the Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry. Secondly, they have not visited any countries or regions outside the mainland or Macao within the 21 days prior to their entry.

According to The Macau Post Daily, the new regulations, signed into law by Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng, follow a ruling allowing foreigners to apply for all categories of mainland visas
