Three new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing Macao’s total cases to 1,819 as of midnight last night, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced.

All the new cases were found under management and control in the Red Code Zones – only four remain as of this morning – and medical observation hotels.

In addition, a total of 22,961 people are under follow up as of 8 am today. Among them are 3,538 close contacts, 12,399 individuals with overlapping itineraries, 1,365 secondary contacts, 253 general contacts and 786 accompanying persons.

The centre also said, in the last 24 hours, a total of 161,992 individuals have been sampled in the compulsory nucleic acid testing (NAT) programme for the Key Groups, Key Areas and people who are working away from home – all results are negative.

As of 8 am today, a cumulative total of 841,365 samples have been collected since 24 July.

All people in Macao are required to take a rapid antigen test (RAT) everyday until this weekend and upload their test results onto the Macao Health Code. Those with positive results must immediately call 119, 120 or 2857 2222 for assistance.
