After a three-year pandemic hiatus, Walk for a Million is returning as a fully-fledged in-person event on 10 December. This will be the long-running fundraiser’s 40th iteration, TDM reports

Organised by the Macao Daily News charity fund, the walk follows a four-kilometre circuit starting near the Kun Iam Statue on Avenida Dr Sun Yat-Sen.

Last year, the 39th Walk for a Million was held under Covid restrictions, with representatives of the fund making sponsored walks around the University of Macau campus. They nonetheless raised 16 million patacas for charity.

The president of the Macao Daily News charity fund, Ho Teng Iat, told TDM she believed this year would see even more money raised to help the needy.

“We hope the public will donate funds generously,” she said.

The fund will facilitate online and offline activities during the event.
