Macao registered 146 new Covid-19 cases as of midnight last night, bringing the city’s confirmed cases to a total of 1,087, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced.
Among the new cases, 48 were found through Macao’s fourth round of mass nucleic acid testing (NAT) and 39 were found in individuals under management and control, while 59 of them were detected among the yellow health code holders and the latest key groups – security staff, cleaners and property management workers.
In addition, 14,188 individuals are under follow up as of 8 am today, among them 2,370 close contacts, 8,916 people with overlapping itineraries,767 secondary contacts, 332 general contacts and 716 accompanying persons.
Macao’s fifth round of citywide mass nucleic acid testing (NAT) began at 9 am today and will conclude at 6 pm tomorrow.
A total of 637,349 people were sampled in the fourth round, which ended at 6 pm yesterday, with 94 batches of pooled samples (10 samples per pooled sample) testing positive for Covid-19. Authorities are currently following up on these samples, according to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre.

Only those with a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) result uploaded onto the Macao Health Code will be allowed to enter NAT centres, while those whose RAT results are positive must call an ambulance at once by contacting 119, 120 or 2857 2222.
