More than 23,000 businesses took part in Macao’s first-ever citywide Consumption Carnival, generating about MOP 1.3 billion through the participants’ e-coupons.
Around 16 million purchases have been automatically entered into the lucky draw for a MOP 1 million cash prize, and food and staycation prizes totalling MOP 3 million, the Economic and Technological Development Bureau announced.
The lucky draw will be held at the Ho Yin Memorial Hall of the Macao Chamber of Commerce (ACM) building on 15 March. A professional auditor will witness the draw, and the winners will be notified as soon as possible.
The scheme, which was jointly launched by the bureau and the ACM on 15 October last year, will end on 28 February, aiming to boost Macao’s post-pandemic economic recovery and market sentiment, The Macau Post Daily reported.
Participants who make a single purchase worth at least MOP 68 at participating businesses will be eligible for the lucky draw, and an instant e-coupon.
As of last Wednesday, more than MOP 80 million worth of e-coupons had been issued, of which about MOP 68 million worth had already been used.
