The MGM Cotai is expected to be opened to the public within February.
MGM China said in an exchange filing today it is now expecting the public opening date of MGM Cotai to be within next month as it is undergoing the administrative approval process of obtaining relevant licenses to operate the casino resort.
After reassessing its project costs, MGM China said the overall budget of the project is expected to remain unchanged at approximately HK$27 billion, excluding land and capitalized interest.
In a previous announcement, the company said the casino resort was expected to be opened to the public on January 29.
It was scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of last year but was delayed by typhoon Hato – the worst storm recorded in Macau
MGM Cotai will be the company’s second integrated casino, hotel and entertainment complex in Macau. It has 1,390 hotel rooms and 2,870 square meters of meeting venues.
