The US lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret is bringing back what was once a staple of the fashion calendar – a controversial fashion show that hasn’t been held since 2018, USA Today reports.

The last show received backlash for failing to reflect the full gamut of womanhood: critics slammed the fact it included neither plus-sized nor transgender models.

That might be about to change. The new iteration – reportedly taking place in autumn – will feature “updates to reflect our values and brand mission of today,” according to a FAQ page on the brand’s website.

One of the questions asked whether the show would be inclusive. “Yes!” read the answer. “Victoria’s Secret is focused on celebrating and supporting all women, and that won’t change anytime soon,” it continued – without confirming how that would translate on the catwalk.

The FAQs did, however, confirm that the fashion show’s iconic wings will be back. These are massive angel-style wings worn by select models.

Founded in 1977, Victoria’s Secret held its first fashion show in 1995. Many notable acts have performed at the events, including Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande.
