Top players due to take part in the WTT Champions Macao 2021 China Stars presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) have arrived in Macao and are preparing for the tournament at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from 19-23 January.
They include world-leading table tennis players such as Olympic champions Ma Long, Fan Zhendong, Xu Xin, Liu Shiwen, Chen Meng, Wang Manyu and Sun Yingsha. Macao’s Cheong Chi Cheng will also be playing. The tournament consists of three categories: men’s singles (16 players), women’s singles (16 players) and mixed doubles (16 pairs).
The Sports Bureau noted that the first two match days will feature rounds of 16 matches in all categories, adding that the semi-finals and finals of the men’s and women’s singles will take place on the last day of the tournament, which is on 23 January.
The bureau reminded ticket holders to arrive an hour before the first match of the day, The Macau Post Daily reported.
