The MGM Macau Tennis Masters will get underway tomorrow afternoon at the Macao Forum, marking the return of Macao’s year-end tennis showcase with two days of exhibition matches, fan activities and a festive atmosphere.

Play begins at 2 pm tomorrow and on 28 December, opening each day with the Captains Challenge before a mix of singles and mixed doubles matches. The event brings together emerging international talent under the guidance of two former Grand Slam champions, with organisers again positioning the tournament as both a sporting spectacle and an interactive fan experience.

In the days leading up to the event, the player line-up has undergone late changes. According to Tennis Up to Date, Jack Draper and Jakub Menšík have withdrawn due to injury, to be replaced by France’s Ugo Humbert and Chinese player Wu Yibing.

The revised field still features several of the tournament’s originally announced names, including Spain’s world No.14 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, teenage standout Mirra Andreeva, Filipino prospect Alexandra Eala and Chinese rising talent Jerry Shang. Former world no.2 Li Na and ex-Wimbledon champion Conchita Martínez remain in place as team captains.

Saturday’s programme features two men’s singles matches and a mixed doubles contest, while Sunday’s shifts focus on the women’s singles before concluding with two men’s matches and the awards ceremony. Organisers say the format is designed to keep crowds engaged across both days, with competitive match-ups balanced by entertainment-driven elements.

Off the court, the tournament will again spotlight women’s leadership in sport through a public conversation titled “Four Voices, One Court”, taking place tomorrow morning at MGM Macau. The session brings together Li, Martínez, Andreeva and Eala for an intergenerational discussion on professional passion and life beyond the court, moderated by former Hong Kong Olympian Robyn Lamsam.

Autograph sessions, lucky draws and opportunities for ticket holders to take part in selected on-court activities will also form part of the programme, reinforcing the event’s festive theme.

Co-organised by MGM and MARI, the MGM Macau Tennis Masters is supported by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Macau Tennis Association. Tickets remain on sale, with strong attendance expected across the two-day event.
