K-pop band Seventeen unveiled its latest song while performing at Macao’s Olympic Sports Center Stadium last Sunday, Rolling Stone reports.
“The Meaning of Meeting,” as the ballad is called, features the 13-man band performing in Mandarin.
Band members The8 and Jun are native Mandarin speakers who grew up in mainland China and previously released solo material in the language, but this is the first song in Chinese from the group as a whole.

Soon after the song’s live debut in Macao, it was released on Chinese music streaming platforms as a single. Its accompanying video features footage from the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium concerts.
The Mandarin song follows on from the group’s English-language debut last year, “Darl+ling.” Speaking to Rolling Stone at the time, group member S. Coups said, “In every language we sing in, we try to show Seventeen as we are.”
More than 40,000 people attended the band’s Macao concerts, deemed a success by promoter Supernoise Group. The crowds were reportedly a boon for local businesses. However, residents living near the Taipa venue complained of excessive noise and traffic jams – prompting Supernoise to issue an apology.
