Authorities have announced traffic arrangements to accommodate the Macao International Parade on Sunday, TDM reports.

Some 15 bus routes will be temporarily suspended or diverted, with pick-up and drop-off points adjusted. Certain roads will have temporary traffic measures in place from Saturday, as well as restricted or no parking. The area around the ruins of St. Paul’s will be entirely closed to traffic starting from 12:30 pm on Sunday, with the parade beginning at 3 pm.

This year’s parade will feature over 80 artistic groups from around the world, competing for various awards, ranging from best costumes and best theme.

Members of the public are invited to vote for the “most popular” performance through the parade’s website or by scanning QR codes along the parade route. According to a government handout, voters will also have a chance to win a return economy ticket to any destination serviced by Air Macau.

In addition to the parade, there will be a parade photo contest, inviting residents aged 12 and over to submit up to five photographs capturing the spirit of the event. Submissions must be made by 8 April.

The parade is scheduled to start at the Ruins of St Paul’s Ruins and end at Sai Van Lake Square.
