The average daily number of visitors to Macao during the Labour Day Golden Week holiday is expected to exceed 70,000, says the head of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes.
According to a report in the Macau Post Daily, she estimated that hotels would reach occupancy rates of up to 90 percent and that Labour Day Golden Week visitors would equal or exceed those welcomed during the Easter long weekend.
Senna Fernandes added that the average number of daily visitor arrivals has reached over 60,000.

The tourism chief was speaking at a business function at Wynn Macau on Tuesday. At the same event, the president of Wynn Macau, Linda Chen, said she hoped Macao could diversify its sources of visitors and attract more international travellers.
Macao is overwhelmingly dependent on mainland Chinese tourism, with travellers from the mainland comprising more than 63 percent of the visitors welcomed in March, according to official figures.
The MGTO has pledged to do “much more work in the international markets” in a bid to lure long-haul customers.
