From today, all travellers leaving Macao through Zhuhai-Macao border posts must hold a valid certificate of negative nucleic acid test results issued within 24 hours for customs clearance.
The government has also just announced that travellers who entered Zhuhai from Macao from 15 June will have to go through “7+7” days of quarantine, meaning: 7-day home isolation followed by 7-day health monitoring at home (NATs on 1st, 3rd, 7th and 14th).
Those entering Macao must hold a NAT showing a negative result within the past 48 hours.
In response to the detection of positive cases of Covid-19 in Macao, Xiangzhou District of Zhuhai and Tanzhou Town of Zhongshan have also launched a citywide nucleic acid test today (19th).
In Macao, all restaurants are closed to diners until further notice and can only serve take-away. All public parks have been closed too.
All educational activities in higher education institutions and non-tertiary education schools are suspended until further notice.
Activities such as tests, examinations and graduation ceremonies are postponed, competitions and exchange activities are cancelled or postponed and schools are temporarily closed. The University of Macau campus has also been closed.
All students are advised to reduce going out, and cross-border students are advised to avoid returning to Macao. In addition, private supplementary education support centres and continuing education institutions are advised to be temporarily closed.
The ferry services between Macao Outer Harbour and Taipa Ferry Terminal to and from Shenzhen and Shekou have been suspended until further notice.
The Novel Coronavirus Response Coordination Centre has urged all citizens and tourists to stay at home as much as possible, implement epidemic prevention measures and avoid going out unless necessary, such as to buy groceries at a supermarket.
Meanwhile, most supermarkets have put up a notice reminding people in Macao to buy only what they need and avoid panic buying as food supply is guaranteed.
