Melco Resorts & Entertainment and the Women’s General Association of Macau joined hands recently to bring festive cheer to local elderlies ahead of Dragon Boat Festival. Nearly 90 volunteers from both Melco and Women’s Association gathered at City of Dreams last week to make traditional rice dumplings together with chefs from Melco’s Jin Ying culinary team.
The volunteers made a total of 350 rice dumplings and gifted them to local elderly residents of Centro de Apoio Múltiplo à Família “Alegria em Harmonia” da Associação Geral das Mulheres de Macau. Volunteers also visited and delivered rice dumplings to individual elderly households, including senior residents of Central and South District, those residing alone and those with reduced mobility. Beneficiaries were happy to receive the rice dumplings and festive greetings from the volunteers. The event forms part of Melco’s Simple Acts of Kindness 2.0 initiative which encourages all colleagues to bring warmth and care to the community through volunteerism.
