The 31st Christmas Eve Celebration will be held at the Ruins of Saint Paul’s between 8:00 pm to midnight on 24 December, according to an official announcement

Organised by various local churches and Christian groups, with support from the Cultural Affairs Bureau (ICM), the four-hour Cantonese-language event will feature a number of live performances, including a children’s choir, dance, musical drama, and Christmas carols.

Admission is free and the event will also be live-streamed via the Lazarus Youth Centre Centre’s Facebook page

Last year’s event was postponed to 1 January 2023 due to the pandemic.

In addition to the Christmas Eve Celebration, there are a host of other festive happenings taking place around town, including Light Up Macao 2023 and the Christmas Market at Tap Seac Square.

Visitor numbers this holiday season are also expected to be quite high, with hotels predicting occupancy rates of up to 90 percent.
