More than 30,000 visitors flocked to the 10th Macao International Travel (Industry) (MITE) expo, which was held both online and offline and ended on Sunday.

Held at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo, MITE’s exhibition floor covered around 23,000 square metres and accommodated 830 booths. It was joined by a total of 454 exhibitors online and offline.

The event’s Cloud Live Broadcast reached 3.06 million live views and had 12 e-commerce and social media platforms assisting exhibitors in promoting their products and conducting live-stream sales. Live streams conducted by eight mainland Chinese key opinion leaders (KOLs) and 13 Macao KOLs spanned 69 hours throughout the expo. Forty on-site exhibitors also took part.

Altogether, 33 tourism entities, enterprises and KOLs conducted 24 sessions of Cloud Live Promotion and engaged with over 900 on-site spectators.

More than 4,500 business-to-business meetings were conducted during the three-day expo for on-site business matching, and 29 contracts involving 49 enterprises were signed. 

The signing ceremonies were witnessed by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, MGTO Deputy Director Ricky Hoi Io Meng, and Macao Travel Agency Association President Alex Lao Nga Fong.

The Agreement on In-depth Cooperation Between Hengqin and Macao Travel Trade was also signed during the expo on Friday. It was witnessed by the director of the Committee on Liaison with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Liao Jingshan, Senna Fernandes and the acting deputy director of the Economic Development Bureau of Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhang Ge, The Macau Post Daily reported.
