A massive indoor ski resort – perhaps the world’s largest – is being built in Shenzhen, near the Shenzhen World Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The South China Morning Post reports that Ice and Snow World will be more than 10 hectares in size – equivalent to around 14 soccer pitches – and is being built at a cost of nearly 30 billion yuan (33.6 million patacas).
When unveiled in November 2025, the resort will offer an 83-metre ski drop and a 441-metre single ski track, rivalling the likes of the Wanda Snow Park in northern Heilongjiang province.

The complex will also reportedly include hotels and shopping facilities.
Zhuhai Huafa Group, the state-owned developer, says that the resort’s snow quality will be up to international competition standards and that there are plans to host winter games training camps.
“We expect to create an efficient cultural tourism complex,” a company official told the People’s Daily.
