Air Macau appears set to start flying a direct route between the SAR and Taiwan’s second-largest city, Taichung, from 1 November, according to multiple social media posts. The same route is currently serviced by TigerAir and Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines.
While Air Macau has yet to officially announce the new route, it can be booked via third-party sites for dates starting in November. The carrier’s route map also lists Taichung as a destination, however.
Flights between the two cities have seemingly been scheduled for Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, departing Macao each morning. From Taichung, the flights return on Thursday and Saturday mornings, and Friday and Monday nights.

Air Macau already offers flights to two destinations in Taiwan: Taipei and Kaohsiung.
Since the removal of Covid-19 travel restrictions in early 2023, Air Macau has introduced a number of new routes – such as to Jakarta, Indonesia – in addition to restoring discontinued routes, including to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The increase in direct flights between Macao and other destinations around Asia is part of the government and local air industry’s efforts to expand Macao’s international tourism markets.
