Capella at Galaxy Macau officially opened on Monday, adding a 95-suite ultra-luxury hotel to Galaxy Entertainment Group’s (GEG) flagship Cotai integrated resort. The new hotel is being touted as a “gilded jungle” designed for discerning premium guests.
Positioned as an exclusive property within the larger Galaxy Macau complex, it is the smallest hotel within the resort by room count. Suites start at 128 square metres and penthouses reach nearly 700 square metres, according to the operators Capella Hotel Group and GEG.
The hotel boasts a number of dining and bar concepts, including Botanica, a 48-seat tropics-themed restaurant led by executive chef Stephen Hsu, and Pony & Plume, a whisky and cocktail bar housing a collection of more than 650 whiskies. The latter’s name references a precise measure of spirit (pony) and what the press release described as an “aromatic cloud of smoke” infusing the bar’s signature cocktails.

GEG also confirmed that acclaimed Hong Kong chef Vicky Cheng will open a standalone fine-dining restaurant at the property later in 2026. Wing’s eponymous restaurant came third in the last Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking.
Capella at Galaxy Macau was designed by Paris-based studio Moinard Bétaille, with interiors and architecture drawing heavily on tropical motifs. The hotel features large private terraces, indoor and outdoor pools in selected suites, and design elements intended to create a secluded, residential atmosphere distinct from the wider resort. Hong Kong artist Laura Cheung has contributed a multi-sensory digital artwork along with each suite’s hand-finished jungle-inspired wall decor.
All guests receive 24-hour butler service, in-suite check-in and complimentary minibar access, while the hotel also offers curated cultural and culinary experiences linked to Macao.
