Macau, China, 25 Nov – Macau’s number of visitor arrivals rose 5.2 percent year-on-year to 1.95 million in October, one of the highest monthly arrival numbers on record, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) has announced.

Month-on-month, the number of arrivals in October was up 15.2 percent.

Mainlanders accounted for 54.1 percent of all visitor arrivals last month. Year-on-year, the number of mainland visitors rose 18.2 percent.

Hongkongers made up 28.1 percent of all visitor arrivals in October. The number of Hong Kong visitors in October was down 5.1 percent year-on-year.

Day trippers accounted for 52.7 percent of the total number of visitor arrivals last month.

In the first 10 months of this year, the number of visitor arrivals reached 17.83 million, an increase of 7.1 percent on the same period of last year.
