Visitor arrivals rise just 1.9 pct in April

Macau’s number of visitor arrivals in April increased a mere 1.9 percent year-on-year to 2.38 million, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced Wednesday.

Month-to-month, the figure grew just 1.4 percent.

Same-day visitor accounted for 62.8 percent of the total number.

Visitors’ average length of stay stood at 1.1 days.

Mainlanders accounted for 58.4 percent of the total number of visitor arrivals. The number of mainland visitors grew 9.5 percent year-on-year to 1.39 million in April.

In the first four months, the number of visitor arrivals rose 6.3 percent year-on-year to 9.32 million.

Visitors from Asia accounted for 97.3 percent of all visitor arrivals in the first four months.(macaunews)
