Macau’s number of visitor arrivals dropped 3.4 percent year-on-year to 2.106 million in June, according to official statistics from the government.

June’s figure was the lowest of any month since January last year.

Same-day visitors accounted for 49.4 percent of last month’s total number of visitor arrivals.

Visitors’ average length of stay decreased by 0.1 day year-on-year to just one day. Overnight visitors stayed for an average of 1.8 days.

Mainlanders accounted for 57.9 percent of all visitor arrivals last month. Hongkongers made up 26.5 percent of the total.

Visitors from Asia accounted for 97.5 percent of all visitor arrivals.

Macau recorded 13.57 million visitor arrivals in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of only 2.5 percent.(macaunews)
